Greetings
Recently I attended the 2012 conference for the NAACP. I was more than excited because I love the organization and also because it was hosted in my home town. Every day I rode the escalator to the third floor of the George R Brown convention center with a smile and every day I was greeted back with glares, raised upper lips and rolled eyes. One would think after almost thirty years of this type of treatment I would be used to it or even not hurt by it, but not so. I realized on the third day of braving that escalator that something had to be done. This blog is called “Black Like This” because it is about people you would probably think were white at first glance.
